Background and Career

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Haitian parents, Clermont has a rich background in public service and law. He served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, gaining valuable prosecutorial experience. Additionally, he worked as a Commission Aide to the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners and held roles such as Assistant City Attorney for Miami Beach and a hearing officer with the Agency for Health Care Administration.

Election and Appointment

Clermont was elected on November 5, 2024, to serve as a County Court Judge. His investiture ceremony took place on February 28, 2025, at the main Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, alongside other new judges. He is assigned to the South Regional Courthouse in Hollywood, where he handles cases in the Criminal Division SB and Civil Division 62.
