PAHO/WHO, in collaboration with the Islamic Medical Association of North America, delivered 1.2 tons of emergency medical kits to Justinien University Hospital in Cap-Haïtien. These kits will enable the hospital to treat more than 10,000 patients.

Here are some other key facts regarding PAHO’s assistance to Haiti:

PAHO has facilitated the delivery of 7.7 tons of critical medicines and health supplies to Haiti amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the country.

The emergency shipment consisted of 17 orders of medical supplies, including items requiring specific temperature controls, and arrived in Port-au-Prince on February 20, 2025.

The supplies included essential medications for emergency care, surgical procedures, maternal and neonatal health, and management of chronic non-communicable diseases, as well as antibiotics, antimalarial treatments, and critical vaccines to help recover vaccination rates.

PAHO collaborated with the Haiti Logistics Cluster, the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD), and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to ensure operational support and coordination.

In June 2023, WHO unlocked US$ 1 million through the CFE to scale up the health response, which enabled PAHO to support Haiti’s Ministry of Health in addressing the urgent health needs of the crisis-affected population.
