On Saturday 25 January 2025, the President of Haiti’s Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT), His Excellency Mr Leslie Voltaire, was received in audience by His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican.

The meeting was a really special time, full of warmth and compassion. They talked about some of the most important issues we’re facing today, like human rights, fighting poverty, the political situation in Haiti, and the challenges we’re facing because of the climate.

During the meeting, President Voltaire said thank you to the Pope for all the support he’s given, especially through his Urbi et Orbi declarations. Those messages bring so much comfort to Haitian Catholic Christians all around the world. He also asked the Pope for help in organizing an international conference to support Haiti at the Vatican.

The goal is to bring the global community together to help.
Pope Francis is on the same page as always, calling for social and political harmony in the Americas. He talked about the situation in Haiti in particular, and made it clear that he’s still got Haiti’s back. He also prayed for peace and stability for the nation.

To top it off, President Voltaire asked for more support for Haitian migrants, who have a tough time abroad.

This meeting is another step in the right direction for Haiti and the Vatican, sending a message of hope, justice, and peace for the future.
