On Monday, a new chapter opened in military cooperation between France and Haiti. 25 soldiers from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) began training at the 33rd Marine Infantry Regiment (RIMa) in France.
This initiative is part of a Military Operational Partnership (MOP) between the two countries, aimed at strengthening security and stability in Haiti. This partnership comes at a time of major change in Haiti, with the recent deployment of the first contingent of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMAS). This mission, hailed by the UN Security Council, marks the start of a new era for the country, with the aim of regaining control of the territory and creating conditions conducive to the holding of elections. France, which contributed financially to this international mission, is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to Haiti through this PMO. This military cooperation is part of France's broader approach to supporting efforts to build the capacity of African and Caribbean armed forces. This training at the 33rd RIMa represents a concrete step in the strengthening of the FAd'H's operational capabilities, essential to meet Haiti's current security challenges.
