A group of 25 Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H) soldiers recently returned to Haiti after a two-week intensive training program in Martinique. 

This engagement is part of the Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT)’s broader strategy to ensure credible, inclusive, and transparent elections in Haiti.

Key Highlights:

Focus Areas: Discussions focused on building institutional capacity, adopting electoral best practices, and promoting technical cooperation between Haiti and Peru.

Commitment to democracy: The CPT reaffirmed its commitment to establishing a reliable electoral framework, which is essential for Haiti’s constitutional referendum and general elections.

Regional cooperation: This meeting follows similar efforts by the Haitian authorities to engage with international organizations, such as the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Venice Commission, to seek guidance on the constitutional and legislative reforms needed for the upcoming elections125.

This initiative underscores Haiti’s determination to address its political challenges through collaborative efforts and international support.
